John Lennon was murdered on the evening of December 8th, 1980. On Sunday December 14th, millions of people around the world gathered to express their overwhelming shock and grief. The weather in Chicago that day was cold and breezy. The Memorial took place on Cricket Hill, near Montrose Beach on the Lakefront. It's sad that 40+ years later, we're still calling for gun control.
